Other Activities

We all enjoy the Beachbody workouts whether it is P90X, Insanity, One-on-One, Turbo Fire, or any of the other amazing workouts, but when it is summer time and is just so darn nice outside you have to do “other activities to get your exercise.

Don’t get me wrong I still do the Beachbody workouts year round, but I augment them when the weather gets nice so that I continue to “keep my body guessing” and to continue to “change it up” so that exercise stays interesting and fun.  This is a life change to continue to exercise my body everyday not just a ninety day quick fix.

So what did I do when I have traveled to Portland for work this week?  While the workdays were long and time at a premium I worked out in my hotel room with Tony and Shaun T.  However when we finished and had a few hours before flying back home and the weather in Portland is 72 and sunny, then we went hiking through the Columbia gorge along some truly awesome trails past several amazing waterfalls.

I could have just gone back to my hotel room and got on my computer or relaxed and watched some TV, as this is what I would have done over a year ago when I had this time.  Not anymore.  Now I am looking for something fun, interesting, and athletic to do out in the sunny weather.

The hike was a lot of fun as we had a small group of us that went and the trails were like something out of a movie.  The scenery is truly amazing and not only did I get to see something that I normally would have missed, but got to experience the beauty of the Northwest landscape while burning some serious calories.

We hiked and talked about how nice it would be if we had more time and could go mountain biking through some of the more remote trails or to get kayaks and float down the river and really just enjoyed the time we were outside.

You are all working hard to get into “good shape” so that you will feel better and have more energy.  So make sure you take advantage of your new found energy and new healthy lifestyle by getting out there and trying some “other activities” because enjoying yourself and trying new things is what life is all about.

I spend my summers behind a boat on a wakeboard and thanks to P90X and Insanity I'm in better shape to do water sports. i"m 52 and better at my sport than when I was in my 20's, all thanks to Beachbody.

Amen. The "real-world" benefits of these programs translates to making things that used to be "tough"-- hikes, bike rides, etc.-- instantly accessible. Switch it up!
