Quit Your Crying

We all fall into ruts.  I have had great success with P90X and have even gone so far as to teach it to others as the one “leading” the workouts.  However after achieving a certain level of fitness I started to explore other areas such as the One on Ones and Insanity to keep pushing myself and my body.  I continued to improve and actually became pretty proud of the shape I have gotten into and the things I can do.

Here is where the rut comes into play.  I have gotten into doing my workouts with good intensity and doing the ones I really like and fell into working out 3-4 times a week.  This is great for maintaining what I have, but not going to cut it if I want to continue to make big improvements and get to a new level of strength and fitness.

This became clear to me when I was checking my tweets and watched a video from Sean Callahan who is on his ninth round of P90X and is in two of the upcoming P90X2 videos.  Here is the link if you want to watch .  This is very very impressive and it made me realize that if I am to continue to improve and make big gains that I am going to have to break out of my current rut, challenge myself, push myself harder and QUIT CRYING about how hard it is going to be.

Don’t get me wrong as I continue to work out I am making gains and improving in all areas of my fitness, but if I want to “play with the big boys” then I am going to have to rededicate myself and start pushing harder.  I personally have never been afraid to work hard and I am extremely motivated by a challenge and I want to be able to do all the things that Sean was doing in his video so I will be “taking off the training wheels” for the next few months and expect to just keep pouring it on when P90X2 comes out and we start it in January.

All of us have a goal in mind when we start out using the Beachbody programs and for me at first I just wanted to lose all the fat and get back to feeling healthy and strong again.  The great thing about achieving that goal is that I can then set new goals and find people and in this case a video that motivate me to become even better than I was.
